Cleaning Operative Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth

We're looking for a Cleaning Operative to join our team at Southside Shopping Centre. This role is about helping people enjoy a clean and pleasant environment while working as part of a supportive team. Every day is different, and you'll work across a variety of indoor and outdoor areas throughout the centre.

Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: Any 5 days from 7, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis
Pay: Competitive hourly rate
What will you be doing?

Would you enjoy working in a busy shopping centre where no two days are the same? Do you take pride in making places look their best? If so, this could be the role for you.

You'll help keep the shopping centre clean, tidy and welcoming by working across the internal malls, customer areas, guest toilets, service corridors, external service yards, car parks and car park stairwells. Your day may include floor cleaning, litter picking, spot cleaning, graffiti removal, emptying bins and helping to keep shared spaces looking their best.

You'll use cleaning products and chemicals safely, following COSHH guidance and site procedures. Full training will be provided, including training on cleaning machinery and site waste equipment such as compactors and balers.

You'll also help look after the equipment you use by keeping it clean and reporting any faults or damage.
What are we looking for?

Do you have previous cleaning experience in a retail, shopping centre or hospitality environment? Are you friendly, reliable and happy to work as part of a team? Can you provide a helpful and professional service to customers and retailers?

Previous cleaning experience in a customer-facing environment is essential. You'll need to be able to communicate with colleagues, customers and retailers and understand simple written and spoken instructions. We welcome people who enjoy helping others, take pride in their work and are happy working both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.

This is an active role, so you'll be comfortable walking for long periods and moving cleaning equipment during your shift.
What training will you receive?

We'll provide full training to help you succeed in the role, including:

COSHH Awareness, Safe Use of Cleaning Chemicals, Manual Handling, Cleaning Machinery Operation, Compactor and Baler Awareness, Health and Safety Procedures, and Customer Service Standards.
