Full Job Description

Valley Road Primary School is entering an exciting new phase, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our team and help shape the next chapter of our school's development. We are a welcoming, vibrant and well-resourced 4-11 primary school, with a shared commitment to ensuring every child feels that they belong, is supported to shine and has the opportunity to achieve and succeed. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about children's learning, believes in the potential of every child and is committed to creating an inclusive classroom where all children feel valued, supported and appropriately challenged. We welcome applications from teachers at all stages of their career, whether you are just beginning your teaching journey or bring a wealth of experience. The successful candidate will:

  • Put the needs, wellbeing and best interests of children at the heart of everything they do.
  • Have high expectations for all children and a strong belief in what every child can achieve.
  • Be committed to inclusive practice, adapting teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of pupils so that everyone can participate, make progress and experience success.
  • Deliver an engaging, creative and ambitious curriculum that inspires curiosity and a love of learning.
  • Build positive relationships and create a classroom culture where every child feels safe, valued and that they belong.
  • Be a reflective practitioner who is professionally curious, open to new ideas and committed to developing their practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing expertise, embracing new approaches and contributing positively to our evolving school.
  • Develop strong, professional relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
  • In return, we can offer:
  • The opportunity to join a school at an exciting point in its development and contribute to shaping its future.
  • A welcoming, vibrant school where new ideas are encouraged and staff are empowered to make a difference.
  • Positive, enthusiastic children who are motivated and engaged in their learning.
  • A friendly and supportive team committed to working together for the benefit of every child.
  • A commitment to professional learning, collaboration and helping every member of staff reach their full potential.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to a school community where inclusion, high expectations and a sense of belonging are central to our work.
  • If you share our ambition for children and want to be part of a team that is committed to learning, collaboration and continuous improvement, we would love to hear from you.
