Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic, committed and highly effective Class Teacher to join our team, with responsibility for leading Mathematics across the school. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner who is passionate about improving outcomes in maths and can inspire both pupils and staff. The successful candidate will combine excellent teaching with the ability to effectively lead, develop and embed high-quality maths provision across the school. As a class teacher the successful applicant will:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning within their class
- Plan engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and accelerate progress
- Create a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment
- Have high expectations for all pupils
- Be able to work as part of a dynamic team and can motivate and inspire others
- Have a high level of energy, enthusiasm and a sense of humour
- Have a secure knowledge of the curriculum In addition to carrying out the duties of a class teacher, this post holder would also have a TLR2 for Mathematics across school. As a Maths lead the successful applicant will:
- Lead the strategic development of mathematics across the school
- Be an excellent Mathematics teacher with a thorough understanding of the maths curriculum from EYFS to Y6
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning in maths
- Support and coach staff to improve subject knowledge and pedagogy
- Analyse data to drive improvement and raise attainment
- Ensure a progressive, well-sequenced maths curriculum is in place
- Promote a love of maths and high expectations for all pupils
