    CLASS TEACHER- YEAR 1
  • Not your typical Year 1 teaching role… At Banks St Stephen's Church of England Primary School, we don't do "just another classroom." We are looking for a brilliant Year 1 teacher to join us from September 2026 on a maternity cover basis - with the potential to become permanent for the right person.
  • This isn't about filling a gap.
  • It's about finding someone who wants to be part of something different.
  • What makes this role different? This is a Year 1 class where:
  • Learning doesn't stay at desks - it moves, explores and breathes
  • Outdoor learning is part of the norm, not a bolt-on
  • Flexible seating means children make choices about how they learn
  • Relationships matter just as much as results
  • Creativity is expected - not squeezed in
  • You'll be teaching children at one of the most important stages in their school journey - helping them bridge the magic of EYFS into the structure of Key Stage 1.
  • Our school in three words: Belong. Serve. Succeed. We are a school where:
  • Children feel they belong
  • They are encouraged to serve others and their community
  • And they are supported to succeed in ways that matter
