Class 2 HGV Driver

Your normal hours of work are 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Your usual start time is 6:00am, although this may vary to meet operational requirements. Due to the nature of your role as a driver, there is no fixed finishing time and your hours of work may vary depending on route schedules, traffic conditions, customer requirements and the operational needs of the business.

What you'll be doing

As one of our drivers, you'll be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of stock while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer service.

Your responsibilities will be to:

- Complete multi-drop deliveries safely, professionally and on time.

- Safely load and unload your vehicle, making sure all goods are secured correctly for transport.

- Check that loads are correct and match customer orders.

- Complete delivery and quality checks and obtain customer signatures on receipt.

- Follow all tachograph, transport, and health and safety regulations.

- Keep your vehicle clean, roadworthy and free from preventable damage.

- Complete daily vehicle checks and submit all required paperwork.

- Take responsibility for vehicle servicing, MOTs and routine inspections to keep the vehicle safe, roadworthy and legal.

- Report any vehicle defects, accidents or incidents promptly and in line with company procedures.

- Help in the warehouse when needed and work closely with the wider team.

- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the operation.

In this role, you'll play a key part in making sure our branches receive stock safely, efficiently, and on time, helping us deliver outstanding service to customers across the network., We're looking for someone who is reliable, takes safety seriously, and provides great customer service.

You'll need:

- A valid Category C (Class 2) HGV Licence, Driver CPC Qualification, and digital tachograph card

- A good understanding of road transport rules and safe driving practices

- The ability to load and unload goods, including lifting heavy items (manual handling equipment provided)

- Good time management, organisation, and communication skills

- The ability to work on your own and as part of a team

- A professional and customer-focused approach, with good attention to detail

- A flexible attitude and willingness to help out in the warehouse when needed
