Job Details
Following a period of record-breaking growth, Stantec's Water division is entering an ambitious new era. For 2026 and beyond, we are expanding our South Region teams to meet the challenges of climate change head-on.
We aren't just consultants; we are partners to the UK's top water clients. From iconic large-scale infrastructure to intricate urban drainage solutions, we design with a simple promise: Community first.
The Opportunity
Joining our teams in High Wycombe, Reading, or Cambridge (all prime locations just a short stroll from the train station), you will immerse yourself in the full project lifecycle.
- Diverse Pipeline: Tackle everything from asset planning and strategy to concept, outline, and detailed design.
- Design & Build: Collaborate directly with contractor partners on major D&B projects that move from the screen to the real world.
- Project Scope: Lead civil engineering design across Water/Wastewater treatment, networks, Storm Water overflows, and sustainable urban drainage.
Why Stantec?
- Global Reach, Local Heart: Access our "world-class expertise" network to deliver cutting-edge designs while staying rooted in the communities we serve.
- Climate Resilience: Be at the forefront of the industry's shift toward carbon mitigation and climate adaptation.
- National Collaboration: While based in the South, you'll have the chance to plug into our UK-wide team, sharing knowledge and redefining the national water landscape.
About You
You are a passionate engineer who doesn't just want to "do the math," but wants to solve the problem.
- Experienced: You bring a solid track record of design experience within the UK water industry.
- Qualified: You hold a degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and are ideally Chartered or Incorporated (ICE, CIWEM, or similar).
- Collaborative: You enjoy working alongside project leads and have a natural knack for mentoring developing engineers.
- Innovative: You're ready to look past traditional methods to find sustainable, efficient solutions for our clients.
The Stantec Lifestyle
Beyond the technical, we offer a culture that values your growth as much as our own. We provide the tools, the mentorship, and the iconic projects-you provide the drive.
