Full Job Description
We are the UK's trusted high-performance experts, powering our greatest athletes, teams, sports and events to achieve positive success. Investing a combination of National Lottery and Government funds, we support our Olympic and Paralympic sports to realise their world-leading potential and help bring major sporting events to the UK. Our purpose is to lead high-performance sport to enable extraordinary moments that enrich lives. We are on a mission - to create the greatest decade of extraordinary sporting moments; reaching, inspiring and uniting the nation. That mission is underpinned by three ambitions for UK high-performance sport; to keep winning and win well, to grow a thriving sporting system and to harness those to inspire positive change. Working with the sports and events we fund, DCMS, and our partner organisations across the UK high-performance system, we are building on 25 years of ever-growing success to write the UK's next chapter for Olympic and Paralympic sport. About the role: As the EURO 2028 Non-Host City Grant Programme Manager, you'll play a key role in one of the UK's most significant major events of the decade. UEFA EURO 2028 will be staged across the UK & Ireland, and this role exists to ensure the benefits of the tournament reach far beyond the cities hosting matches. You'll design and deliver a national grant programme to spread tournament benefits to places in England that are not hosting matches. You'll manage the programme end-to-end, from finalising its design and launching applications, through to funding agreements, monitoring, assurance and close-down. You'll design and oversee fair, transparent selection processes, manage relationships with applicants and recipients, and ensure strong governance, value for money and meaningful social impact. Working closely with DCMS, local partners and colleagues across UK Sport, you'll help ensure this programme contributes to the largest-ever UEFA EURO community programme, spreading excitement, opportunity and legacy across communities nationwide. Who will I be working with? You'll work closely with the EURO 2028 Senior Advisor (Host Cities), the wider UK Sport EURO 2028 team, DCMS, local authorities, delivery partners and community stakeholders across England.
You're an experienced programme or project manager who thrives in complex, time-bound environments and enjoys bringing ambitious programmes to life. You bring strong experience designing and delivering grant funding programmes, including managing application processes, funding agreements, assurance and reporting. You're confident analysing qualitative and quantitative information, forming sound judgements and making decisions with integrity. You build strong, collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and are comfortable working autonomously while contributing positively to a wider team. Organised, proactive and solutionsfocused, you care about delivering impact, value for money and fairness and you're motivated by the opportunity to help spread the benefits of a major sporting event to communities across the country. As you'll see from the more detailed Job Description, we are looking for an exceptional candidate who will naturally look to collaborate with others. In return, we will be there with you every step of the way. Come join us and be part of the heartbeat of high-performance sport in the UK.
