Children & Young Peoples ASD Assessor

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Children & Young Peoples ASD Assessor to join our growing Neurodevelopmental Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-quality, multidisciplinary autism assessment pathway, helping to deliver timely assessments, informed diagnostic decision-making and meaningful recommendations for children and young people. You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering assessments in line with NICE guidance and contributing to evidence-based diagnostic outcomes. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced clinicians within a strong governance framework while making a genuine difference to local families., The successful candidate will:

• Deliver high-quality autism assessments for children and young people in line with NICE guidance and service procedures.
• Gather and analyse information from multiple sources including families, schools and professionals.
• Conduct developmental history and clinical assessment appointments.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary diagnostic discussions and formulation of outcomes.
• Produce comprehensive, high-quality clinical reports within agreed timescales.
• Communicate assessment outcomes sensitively and effectively to children, young people and their families.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately through established governance processes.
• Provide advice, recommendations and signposting to support services following assessment.
• Participate in clinical supervision, audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across neurodevelopmental pathways to support excellent patient care and pathway efficiency.
