Full Job Description

As the Children and Young People Specialist, you will lead our work to better support young people's mental health. You will manage the Young People's mental health team to drive development and delivery of our programmes focused on young people, including our Youth Voice Network. You will work across the organisation, with local Minds and external partners to understand challenges and barriers to young people's mental health and identify opportunities for Mind to address these, e.g. through partnerships and innovation, collaborating with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to develop and mobilise solutions. You will do this through lived experience leadership, coproduction and engagement with relevant audiences. This role is located within the Equity Partnerships and Voices team within the wider Social Impact Directorate to provide strategic insight and oversight, and ensure an intersectional approach to addressing mental health inequalities. Key duties and responsibilities The post holder will: - Lead on the continuous development of Mind's strategic plans for supporting Young People. Ensure the plans maximise Mind's impact and innovation across the Mind federation and enable us to reach our strategic ambitions.2. Work alongside colleagues across the Equity Partnerships and Voices team to address mental health inequalities and the intersections related to Children and Young people.3. Manage the CYP team and build on the pioneering Youth Voice Network. 4. Lead on the co-ordination & co-design of flagship CYP delivery at both a local and national level, working in partnership with colleagues across national Mind to develop new programmes, services and leverage funding 5. Ensure that young people's lived experience informs & guides Mind's work at both a local and national level so that young people with lived experience are actively involved in the planning, development and delivery of Mind's strategic plans. 6. Build positive relationships with grassroots organisations who centre the needs of young people in order to amplify youth voice.8. Being an external spokesperson for CYP work at Mind 9. Programme manage key funded CYP programmes such as the Trauma Informed Support programme, regularly reviewing performance against targets and budgets (including re-forecasting), providing regular activity and financial reports for the management and governance teams and funders, detailing delivery against outcomes and targets This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter.   • Have a background in Youth Work. This could be in an setting such as educational settings, youth clubs, faith based settings. This can be in either a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Are able to speak Welsh
  • Have lived experience as a person from a marginalised community
