Full Job Description

The Children and Young People's Bladder and Bowel Nurse Specialist (CYBBNS) is a specialist community nursing role responsible for providing specialist assessment, treatment, education, and support to children and young people with continence, bladder, and bowel conditions across South East and South West Essex. The post holder delivers nurse-led clinics, develops individualised care plans, with the team manages the CYBBS caseload and works closely with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and partner agencies to improve outcomes and promote continence care closer to home.,

  • Supporting a caseload of children and young people with bladder, bowel and continence conditions.
  • Undertaking assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans.
  • Delivering nurse-led clinics and providing specialist advice, support and education to families, schools and professionals.
  • Supporting service development, clinical audit, governance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinating aspects of the day-to-day operational running of the service alongside clinical and operational leads.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and activity data and contributing to performance monitoring.
  • Providing leadership, mentorship and training to students and healthcare professionals.
  • Working in partnership with primary care, acute services, education and other agencies to deliver integrated care and reduce avoidable hospital attendances.
  • Ensuring safeguarding, risk management and professional standards are maintained at all times.
