Full Job Description

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic qualified Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our dedicated and supportive service on a permanent part time basis (0.88wte) 33 hours.

Our CWP team sits within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) early intervention pathway, providing timely, evidence-based support to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We are seeking compassionate and proactive clinicians who are committed to improving outcomes for children, young people, and families, while embodying NHS values of kindness, respect, collaboration, and high-quality care.

This role is ideal for practitioners who are motivated to make a meaningful difference by supporting early intervention and reducing waiting times, ensuring children and young people can access support as quickly as possible. Successful candidates will deliver Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LI-CBT) interventions and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, schools, community settings, and clinics across the county.

The role will involve travel across the county, therefore, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

We are excited to continue developing and strengthening our CWP provision and look forward to welcoming skilled and values-driven practitioners to our team.

You will have successfully completed and passed the Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) training programme and will bring experience of working therapeutically with children and young people.

As a compassionate and patient-centred clinician, you will be confident in communicating effectively with children, families, schools, and partner agencies, providing advice and support that enhances the experience and wellbeing of those accessing our services.

You will demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills when working with sensitive and confidential information, fully understanding the importance of data security, safeguarding, and maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.

Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will contribute to delivering safe, effective, and inclusive care, helping children and young people achieve positive mental health outcomes., We would like the people who work for Children and Family Health Devon to be understanding, patient and respectful. They should be trustworthy and make us feel safe and comfortable. It is important that they use their skills and experience to listen carefully in a non-patronising and non-judgemental way. When staff are positive and friendly, they help to create an environment that is informal and without pressure.

At Children and Family Health Devon, we are dedicated to improving the physical and mental health of children and young people across Devon and Torbay. We aim to create an environment where children and young people can thrive and are committed to reducing health inequalities and providing specialised support, empowering them to lead healthy, fulfilling lives., We are an alliance of NHS organisations led by Devon Partnership Trust. We are a group of professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, nurses and many other professions.
