Full Job Description

The Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) plays a key role in delivering early intervention, person-centred support to children, young people, and families across Swindon. Working as part of a multidisciplinary mental health service, you will provide evidence-based support for mild to moderate mental health difficulties through assessments, low-intensity interventions, and practical coping strategies. The role also involves working closely with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure care is holistic, accessible, and responsive, while contributing to the ongoing development of the service., This is a rewarding role focused on delivering evidence-based, low-intensity interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, and behavioural challenges. Key responsibilities include conducting initial assessments, identifying needs, and developing collaborative treatment plans tailored to each young person and their family. You will deliver one-to-one and group interventions through face-to-face and blended approaches, with responsibility for leading parenting interventions such as the evidence-based Triple P Parenting Programme. The role also involves monitoring progress and outcomes through routine measures, contributing to improvements in local access metrics for children and young people, and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns by providing immediate support where needed. You will be expected to remain up to date with developments in child and adolescent mental health through ongoing
training and professional development, while participating in regular supervision and peer support sessions to maintain best practice and continuous growth. In addition, you will undertake any other duties appropriate to the role to support service development and ensure high-quality care for children and young people.
