Full Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Barnsley Council is seeking a qualified Children's Social Worker to join our Integrated Front Door Team. In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, ensuring that their needs are met through effective assessment and intervention. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify their needs and risks.
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to case discussions.

    A recognized Social Work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding and assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children's social care.
