Full Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Barnet Council is seeking a qualified Children's Social Worker to join our Duty & Assessment Team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting initial assessments and risk evaluations to identify the needs of children and their families.
  • Developing and implementing intervention plans to support vulnerable children and promote their welfare.
  • Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, education, and law enforcement, to coordinate services for families.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of casework, assessments, and interventions in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to share insights and best practices.

    A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable experience in child protection, assessment, and intervention.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
