Children's Support Worker - Rotational Post

The post holder will be responsible for the care and support of children with complex health needs within the community setting, including the child's home, school or nursery and Swanbourne Gardens Respite Centre The post holder will work under the direction of the team leader and registered nursing staff to set standards and plans of care. They will carry out specialised care in an unsupervised capacity. The successful candidate will be put through a comprehensive training programme to ensure they are competent and confident whilst delivering a high standard of care. The post holder will be responsible for medications, suctioning, manual handling, tracheostomycares, gastrostomy cares, domiciliary cares and other health care needs. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly across both night and day duties as we provide a service that runs 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Our night duty is on a waking basis and is paid accordingly. An ideal applicant will have significant experience in looking after children and preferably children with additional or complex needs. You must be willing and enthusiastic to learn new skills. You will be joining a growing team of Support Workers and will be given every opportunity to learn and be supported in gaining experience and knowledge in caring for the children we are commissioned to provide care for.
