Children's Support Worker Part Time

Supporting a 10 year old little boy to do activities after school and at the weekends such as golf and scouts

Location: Shrewsbury

Hours: Part time - 2 x weekdays after school (4.30pm-6.30pm / 6pm-8pm) and 2-3 hours on Sundays. Additional hours available in school holidays, and also additional hours available to cover in our other children's care packages in Shrewsbury.

Pay: up to £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Requirements: We require a driver with a car for this role.

Meet Our Client

Our client is a 10 year old little boy who has cerebral visual impairment. Due to his visual impairment, he needs supervision, prompts, reminders and support with navigating unfamiliar environments.

He lives at home with his mum and twin sister.

We are looking to recruit a Support Worker to take our client to do activities after school and at the weekends, to include golf and scouts.

You must be a driver with a car to take him to these activities.

When you'll be working

  • Weekdays after school: Golf is once a week, 4.30pm-6.30pm and Scouts is once a week, 6pm-8pm
  • Sundays: 2-3 hours for golf tournaments
  • More hours will be available in the school holidays. There will also be scope to expand hours in the future as care package may increase
  • We also have additional hours available in our other packages in Shrewsbury on an ad hoc basis, to cover when the regular support workers are off on holiday/sickness (these packages hours are weekdays 8.45pm-3.15pm / 10am-2pm)

In this role, you'll support one individual with complex needs, working regular weekly shifts to build a consistent, trusted care team. While hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract.
