Full Job Description
Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families? Barnsley Council is seeking a qualified Children's Social Worker (SSW) to join our Children and Families (C&F) Team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with families, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard. Your expertise will be vital in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in our community. As a Children's Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying needs and risks.
- Developing and implementing intervention plans that promote positive outcomes for children.
- Working closely with multi-agency partners to ensure integrated support for families.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Participating in supervision and team meetings to share best practices and improve service delivery.
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). - Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in working within a children's social work setting, with a strong understanding of child protection legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
