Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join a 4-bed children's residential service located in Totton, supporting children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and associated behaviours that may challenge. This role is suitable for candidates commuting from Totton, Southampton, Lyndhurst, Romsey, Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford, Hythe, Marchwood, Dibden and the surrounding areas. As an experienced Senior Children's Residential Support Worker, you will be responsible for leading shifts, supervising and supporting a team of residential support workers, and ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is consistently delivered. You will help create a safe, structured and supportive environment that promotes independence, communication, confidence and daily living skills. You will also support children and young people to access the community through planned activities and outings, encouraging social inclusion, independence and positive life experiences.

Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have experience working within a children's residential setting as a Senior Children's Residential Support Worker or in a similar senior support role.,

  • A positive, caring and compassionate approach to supporting children and young people
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A motivated, flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People or equivalent, essential
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 5 qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence, essential
  • Experience working within learning disability residential care or a similar setting
  • Experience supporting children and young people with autism, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge
  • Experience leading shifts or working at senior support level
  • Experience with positive behaviour support and de-escalation techniques
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without s p o n s o r s h i p
