Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen forBand 5 Children's Community Occupational Therapist's to join our friendly and supportive Children's Occupational Therapy team across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. In this role, you will work with children and young people aged 0-19 years who have physical disabilities and motor coordination difficulties, supporting them to develop independence and maximise participation in daily activities at home, school, and within their communities. You will manage a varied caseload, completing assessments and delivering evidence-based, child-centred interventions across a range of settings including clinics, homes, nurseries, and schools. You will work closely with families, education staff, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic and meaningful outcomes for children. Part of the role includes contributing to the development of universal and targeted support packages for schools, helping to build inclusive environments and improve access to learning. You will be well supported within a structured team environment, receiving regular supervision from experienced therapists, alongside opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.,
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions for children and young people
- Deliver therapy in a range of community settings including home, school, and clinics
- Support schools and families to implement therapy programmes and strategies
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to EHCP processes
- Provide training and advice to parents, carers, and education staff
- Maintain accurate clinical records using electronic systems (RIO)
- Contribute to service development and evidence-based practice
