Full Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Children's HDU Nurse and make a real difference. In this dynamic and rewarding role, you'll provide high-quality, compassionate care to acutely unwell children requiring close monitoring and specialised support.Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key part in delivering safe, effective, and family-centred care in a fast-paced, high-dependency environment. This is an opportunity to grow your clinical skills, contribute to service development, and support families during some of their most challenging time, Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to children requiring high dependency support. Monitor, assess, and manage the care of acutely unwell children, including those with complex medical needs.
Use specialist equipment and clinical skills to provide continuous observation and intervention. Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans. Act as a key point of contact for children and their families, offering support, information, and reassurance.
Recognise and respond promptly to changes in a child's condition, escalating concerns appropriately. Safely administer medications and treatments in accordance with Trust policies and national guidelines. Contribute to clinical documentation, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
Maintain high standards of infection prevention, patient safety, and safeguarding. Support junior staff, students, and new team members through supervision, mentorship, and role modelling.
