Join our dedicated team at CAFCASS in Brighton as a Children's FCA (Family Court Advisor) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert assessments and recommendations to the Family Court, ensuring that the best interests of children are at the forefront of every decision. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with families, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to facilitate positive outcomes for children. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families involved in family court proceedings.
  • Preparing and presenting reports for court that reflect the needs and wishes of the child.
  • Engaging with children and families to gather information and insights that inform decision-making.
  • Collaborating with social workers, legal representatives, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Providing advice and support to families throughout the court process.

    To excel in this role, you will need to possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience in child protection, family law, or social work practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Excellent report-writing and analytical skills.
