Join our dedicated team at CAFCASS Birmingham as a Children's FCA (Family Court Advisor) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing expert assessments and recommendations to the Family Court, ensuring that the best interests of children are at the forefront of all decisions. You will work collaboratively with families, legal representatives, and other professionals, utilizing your skills to navigate complex situations and promote positive outcomes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families involved in court proceedings.
  • Preparing detailed reports for court, articulating the child's needs and welfare.
  • Engaging with families to build trust and understanding while gathering pertinent information.
  • Collaborating with social workers, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive support.
  • Providing expert testimony in court as required.

    To be considered for this role, you must possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in child protection and family support.
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
