Full Job Description

Are you passionate about improving children's health and reducing the impact of environmental exposures on illness and wellbeing? We are seeking an experienced, innovative and highly motivated nurse to join and help develop our Children's Environmental Health Clinic at The Royal London Hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in delivering specialist care for children and young people whose health may be affected by environmental exposures in the home, school or wider community. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide expert assessment, care coordination and practical support for children with complex needs, while helping to shape and develop this growing specialist service.

The successful candidate will manage a defined patient cohort and play a central role in coordinating care across hospital, community and partner services. This will include undertaking home visits, contributing to multidisciplinary assessment and care planning, coordinating referrals, supporting follow-up, and helping families to understand and reduce environmental risks that may be affecting their child's health. These responsibilities are adapted from the attached role's focus on independent cohort management, MDT working, pathway development and cross-setting coordination.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing Children's Environmental Health Clinic and wider children's respiratory and environmental health service.

The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver specialist assessment, monitoring, advice and care coordination for children and young people whose health may be affected by environmental exposures in the home, school or wider community.

The post holder will manage a defined caseload of children and young people under the Children's Environmental Health Clinic, working autonomously within agreed pathways and escalating complex issues to senior colleagues as required. They will assess clinical and environmental risk, support the development and implementation of management plans with the wider MDT, and contribute to home and community-based assessment, education, audit, quality improvement and service development.

The post holder will provide specialist advice and support to families and professionals, helping ensure children are managed safely and appropriately through effective referral processes, pathways and follow-up
