Full Job Description
The post holder will work as part of the Brent Children's Community Nursing Team and will be required to work closely within a multi-disciplinary setting. Intravenous competency with central lines would be an advantage. This post offers a great opportunity for a Paediatric Nurse to further develop nursing skills within the community setting. The organisation is supportive of training needs and there is an excellent training an education programme. You will also receive regular safeguarding supervision, clinical supervision and will have support from the Team Lead.
- Participate in the assessment, planning, and delivery of skilled nursing care, collaborating with the child and family, in partnership with the Children's Community Team Leads.
- Provide expert, evidence-based nursing care for children with complex care needs, including those who are technology-dependent (e.g., tracheostomy care and central venous access).
- Administer skilled nursing care for children with various medical needs, such as enteral feeding and intravenous antibiotic therapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other agencies to ensure seamless and coordinated care delivery to families.
- Provide information and support to assist the child and family in making informed decisions regarding their nursing care options.
- Empower parents/carers by providing education, support, and risk assessments to help them safely care for their child at home or in the community setting.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of clinical data and care activities, ensuring systematic and detailed documentation.
- Promote health education as an integral part of nursing care, supporting preventive and ongoing health measures.
- Ensure safe handling of body fluids and sharps in accordance with best practice and safety standards.
- Work autonomously as a lone practitioner while receiving support and guidance from CCN Team Leads.
