Full Job Description
The Chief Renal Technologist will have to be able to effectively manage a range of responsibilities, including ensuring that all renal dialysis equipment in any of the haemodialysis treatment areas is fully supported and working appropriately. You will work with a small team and will be expected to lead by example and ensure that the workload is effectively prioritised and completed., The Chief Renal Technologist will be expected to develop a variety of skills including leadership, partnership working, team working, and resource management along with the opportunity to develop general management skills., Please refer to the attached job description for full details of the main duties and responsibilities that the post holder is required to undertake Job description, Please refer to the attached job description for full details of the main duties and responsibilities that the post holder is required to undertake
- BEng or equivalent work-based qualification in electronic/mechanical/clinical engineering
- Must hold a full driving licence and have relevant business related insurance cover Desirable
- Registered as a clinical technologist.
- Member of a professional body i.e. Association of Renal Technologists.
- Management qualification or evidence of experience Knowledge and Training Essential
- Experience in maintenance and repair of a wide range of dialysis related medical equipment
- Experience in the use of electronic test and Measurement/fault diagnosis equipment and practical experience in the electronic/mechanical repair procedures
- Evidence of being able to service, repair and calibrate Fresenius haemodialysis equipment, multifiltrate machines and related reverse Osmosis machinery.
- Experience of working within a quality management system
- Expert understanding and knowledge of medical equipment and the environments in which it is used
- Must have expert knowledge and understanding of legislation related to medical devices
- Expert knowledge of health and safety requirements in a dialysis facility
- Evidence of the ability to undertake risk assessments i.e. Health & Safety, COSHH etc. and identify clear action plans Experience Essential
- Experience of evaluating new renal medical equipment including assessment of clinical suitability, reliability, lifetime costs etc
- Experience of being able to effectively manage the technical services within a multiple site trust ensuring little disruption to services
- Experience of being able to prioritise workload to ensure service level agreements are not impacted.
- Experience of working at Band 6 level in Renal Services
- Experience of managing a team Person Specification Qualifications Essential
