Full Job Description
The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a strategic partner to the Chief Executive and Executive Team, responsible for driving organisational alignment, extending the capacity of senior leadership, and ensuring effective governance and delivery of cross-cutting priorities. The role acts as an independent trusted adviser, project leader, and connector across the organisation, enabling the Chief Executive and Executive Team to focus on what matters most for people with cancer., Responsibilities - An overview of key responsibilities is provided below, full details can be found on the attached role profile: 1. Drive Strategic Alignment 2. Extend Leadership Capacity 3. Coordinate Across Departments and the Board of Trustees 4. Manage Special Projects 5. Lead the Chief Executive's Office 6. Act as a Trusted Adviser 7. Shape Internal and External Communication 8. Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Significant experience at Director level or equivalent, with a track record of strategic leadership and delivery in complex organisations.
- Demonstrable ability to lead cross-organisational projects and drive alignment across diverse teams.
- Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
- Experience of working closely with Boards and senior leadership, with a sound understanding of governance.
- High degree of agility, adaptability, and resilience, with the ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to act independently, make decisions, and represent senior leaders internally and externally.
- Experience in managing special projects, crisis response, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent strategic decision making, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent people management skills, with the ability to lead a small team in a high-pressure environment.
- Discretion in dealing with confidential information.
