Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an exceptional and values-driven leader to join the Trust Board as our permanent Chief Finance Officer.
This is a significant Executive leadership opportunity within a large and complex acute Trust serving communities across Surrey and Sussex. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Finance Officer will provide strategic financial leadership to the organisation, ensuring strong financial stewardship, sustainable transformation and delivery of the Trust's long-term strategic objectives., As an inclusive employer, we are committed to fostering a workplace where everyone can be themselves and thrive. The successful candidate will bring leadership experience within a complex environment, with a proven track record of delivering financial sustainability, transformation and organisational improvement. The role requires a collaborative and compassionate leader, able to build strong partnerships across the Trust, Integrated Care Board, NHS England Regional team and wider system partners.

We are a leading local employer with a diverse workforce of approximately 6,000 staff, delivering healthcare services to a growing population of around 780,000.
Our Trust provides emergency and non-emergency care across East Surrey, North-East West Sussex, and South Croydon, serving key towns including Crawley, Horsham, Reigate, and Redhill. Our main site, East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, offers a full range of acute and complex services and is the nearest trauma unit to Gatwick Airport.
We also provide outpatient, diagnostic, and planned services at several sites, including The Earlswood Centre, Caterham Dene Hospital, Oxted Health Centre, Crawley Hospital, and Horsham Hospital.
