Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Biomedical Scientist to join us as a cross-network Chief Biomedical Scientist for Coagulation.

This is a full time role which will require the post holder to oversee laboratory Coagulation services at all sites within the SHYPS network. Applicants must be able to travel between Hull, York and Scarborough as part of their duties.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in a fast changing laboratory coagulation service, including working closely with clinicians within the Haemophilia specialist team, and developing the service in line with new treatments and techniques., To be responsible for the day-to-day technical and scientific operational management within the department.

Play a key role in the provision of an efficient, high quality diagnostic service.

To be involved in shaping the strategic development of the department in consultation with the Head Biomedical Scientist.

To interpret and implement policies and procedures in order to meet the demands of the service.

To align and standardise procedures at each site and to seek opportunities for network improvements.

Ensure efficient planning, prioritisation and allocation of workload at both local and network level.
