Chef / Cook - Island stove - London

In this role, you will play a key part in food preparation and live service, ensuring all dishes meet our exceptional standards of taste, quality, and presentation in a fast-paced environment.,

• Culinary Execution: Prepare and cook core menu offerings to standard, including West African specialties (Jollof rice, Fried rice, Suya, grilled meats), alongside fried chicken, chips, sides (plantain, coleslaw), and signature sauces.
• Service Efficiency: Maintain fast, consistent production during peak service periods while managing stock, food prep, and closing station clean-downs.
• Quality & Portion Control: Ensure consistent food presentation, taste profiles, and adherence to portion guidelines.
• Food Safety & Hygiene: Strictly uphold HACCP standards, allergen management procedures, and temperature monitoring (cooking and hot-holding).
• Workplace Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation at all times.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with both kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel to streamline service operations.
  
  Proven experience in a commercial kitchen, high-volume event, festival, or catering environment.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain quality and composure under high-pressure, fast-paced conditions.
• Strong knowledge of West African cuisine (preferred, but not required).
• Robust understanding of food safety standards, hygienic preparation practices, and safe food handling.
• Excellent punctuality, work ethic, and communication skills.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods in an outdoor catering setup.
