Full Job Description

Aramark UK is looking for a committed and motivated Chef to join our team at IRC Campsfield, Kidlington. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced chef who wants work-life balance without stepping away from the craft they love. Why is this role different? This isn't your standard hospitality role. You'll be part of a highly respected culinary team within the Judicial sector, helping to deliver nutritious meals while contributing to a purposeful environment. And with shifts between 7am-7pm on weekends, your evenings are finally yours - a rarity in hospitality. You'll work as part of a skilled and supportive kitchen team, preparing and producing meals for residents three times a day. You'll also supervise and support enhanced residents working in the kitchen - helping them learn new skills and ensuring a smooth, safe operation. Please note: For sector compliance, you must have lived in the UK for the past 5 years, hold the legal right to work, and be able to pass full security vetting and DBS checks. Why join us?

  • Free meals on shift
  • Free on-site parking
  • Blue Light Discount Card (after probation)
  • Employee Assistance Programme + in-house Mental Health Champions
  • Access to our Employee Benefits app - save on supermarket shops, weekend treats, and more
  • Life assurance, pension contributions, and generous holiday entitlement (with the option to buy more)
  • Real opportunities for development - we promote from within, offer apprenticeships, and provide ongoing training to support your progression.
  • What you'll do:
  • Preparing and cooking quality food from a set pre-ordered menu
  • Collaborating with prisoner workforces, guiding, and supporting them in culinary tasks
  • Ensuring food is produced efficiently and in line with recipe sheets
  • Completing kitchen paperwork and due diligence
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Being an effective team player with the confidence to manage conflict if needed
  • Participating in ongoing training.

Residency in the UK for the past 5 years and legal right to work
  • The ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks
  • Previous chef experience and a passion for great food
