Full Job Description
It is an exciting time to be involved in Medical Education at Queen Mary. We are in the process of writing a new curriculum for the MBBS. The Chadburn Lecturers in Clinical and Communication Skills will be an active part of the curriculum development process, and will contribute to student education and experience through the delivery of teaching activities across the Faculty's medical degree programmes - shaping the agenda for our students and positioning QMUL as the best place to study medicine.
A collegial, ambitious, and inclusive clinical educator, you will see this as an opportunity to transfer your existing high quality, innovative style in teaching and scholarship into a different environment in the area of clinical and communication skills. You are a proud and ethical doctor who is keen to pursue a career in academia within an Institute that can provide the flexibility to meet your needs.
You will inspire through your actions, engage through your variety of communication styles and actively seek out opportunities for collaboration, thriving on working with others, both within teams and across disciplines.
At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.
Throughout our history, we've fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it's simply 'the right thing to do' but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.
We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.
Based mainly at our West Smithfield Campus in London, it is a part-time, (14 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 2 years., We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days' leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities.
Queen Mary's commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
