Full Job Description

  • Ensure proper flow of financial information and clear processes and governance across activities, with SBS (A2R, CI2C and P2P) and Finance Operations.
  • Participate to the definition of the Finance strategy and team sizing together with Finance and business stakeholders of the Group.
  • Support the GBU and Functions stakeholders of her/his scope, on all related financial aspects
  • Interact regularly with the GBUs MCO/Region/Countries leadership team as well as with the Finance community local, regional and global.
  • Responsible for driving the performance of UKIE through the optimization of resources (e.g. CLF), assets and liabilities while minimizing risk exposure, in coordination with Controlling Operations
  • Infuse cash flow, internal control and compliance culture across all Finance Community and businesses.
  • Builds and develops a strong local finance community and supports the development of Finance Talents.
  • Main Responsibilities
  • Strategy, Transformation and Execution.
  • Contribute to the overall optimization of UKIE governance, processes and ways of working, as a key member of the Country Council.
  • Provide holistic financial support to the MCO Lead and teams to ensure achievement of business objectives, focusing on growth and transformation.
  • Aim at maximizing growth and profitability of growth assets as well as cash generation.
  • In alignment with the Group, GBU and Key Markets, frame the strategy for the MCO to simplify the portfolio, optimize local presence and maximize profitability and patient reach, notably in a context of additional verticalization of corporate and central functions.
  • Implement the strategy roadmap, the rules and principles of the Finance Function for all Sanofi activities in UKIE in accordance with local legislations, Corporate procedures & Group
  • Foster strategic thinking and partners decision making process for business development.
  • Support management in decision making processes by providing finance expertise.
  • Work in partnership with the Country Lead, implementation of the new Drive Target Operating Models.
  • Financial Planning and ensuring the consistency of macro-economic hypothesis in the planning / budgeting / forecasting processes.
  • Accountable for MCO performance (beyond budget tracking) to identify risks and opportunities to dynamically re-allocate resources within the UKIE MCO
  • Prepare forward looking analyses - focusing not only on past performance but also foreseeing Risks & Opportunities in coming quarters/years with action plan proposals to ensure target achievements.
  • Co-pilot the business investments and resources allocation through the appropriate use of KPIs, prioritization measures and operational analysis.
  • Support and challenge the operational management and provides advice, anticipates and monitors performance.
  • Ensure the reliability of the statutory and managerial accounts and their reporting in due time.
  • Aligns business strategies and forecasts with Supply Chain and ensures consistency of information and data.
  • Challenge business hypothesis and ensures that forecasts are realistic from a finance point of view.
  • Leads the Budget and Forecast processes in close cooperation with HQ and local Heads of departments.
  • Talent Development and Culture
  • Lead a highly qualified and motivated team and support its development.
  • Develop an inclusive culture and mindset and supports D&I.
  • Monitor efficiency in finance & accounting within the group and implements necessary steps leading improvements in this area.
  • Identify and manages key business projects, according to the company needs and ensures the successful implementation.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the key financial liaison for external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop strong relationships with the leadership team, providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare financial presentations for the Board of Directors and other key stakeholders.
  • UK Pension trustees' management with Pension fund of circa 2Bn
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A):
  • Support potential M&A activities by conducting financial due diligence, integrating new businesses, and optimizing the financial performance of acquired entities
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with UK and Irish financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements and other regulatory reporting.

    Demonstrated inclusive leadership to serve as a leader among peers
  • Strategic thinking: Anticipate future trends, "what if scenarios", deal with complexity, build a comprehensive business strategy
  • Strong communication skills to build commitment, create adherence and interact efficiently with senior leaders and peers' markets as well as other GBU Finance Heads
  • Strong track record of leading and coaching staff to deliver superior results
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as strong analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects as well as work effectively with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to drive process improvement and change initiatives across the organization
  • Excellent team player, able to think and act as One Finance beyond the GBU boundaries, to connect
  • Very good analytical skills to challenge and detect risks, draw the big picture and propose remediation or improvement actions
  • Education & Experience BA or master's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent Deep business acumen and detailed market knowledge Min. 10 years of experience in a managerial role, Better is out there.
