Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Centres' Operations Officer within the Centres and Institute Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the centres and institutes within Law to deliver planned activities and objectives. Working closely with the Centres and Institute Manager and Research Centre Directors, the post holder will assist in managing the centre and institutes' projects and day-to-day operations to deliver a high performing centres and institutes function in Law. This includes providing high-quality administrative, operational, project and events support, in collaboration with centre managers and wider professional services teams.
We are seeking candidates with a keen eye for detail and a strong background in business operations or administration. The post holder will be an important member of the Centres, responsible for day to day administration and supporting essential business functions such as financial processing, monitoring budgets, maintaining records, and developing operational processes. The role also provides operational support for the team, administrative assistance to academic colleagues, and helps coordinate centre meetings, events, internal and external communications, and associated project logistics. The role also provides cover for general administration across a portfolio of centres.
The role would be suitable for someone who is looking to support a broad variety of activities and interested in progression in HE business operations and research management. The candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and enjoy working as part of a team as well as independently.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience, 1. First degree or equivalent experience
2. Minimum 2 years administrative experience within an HE, legal or research environment
3. Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft 365, database management, other specialist HE applications and AI tools
4. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with experience working with stakeholders at all levels
5. Substantial experience in financial processing, managing budgets and reporting on financial spend
6. Ability to manage workload and balance competing priorities
7. Ability to work collaboratively and contribute effectively as part of a team
7. Strong understanding of GDPR policy and data management
Desirable criteria
1. Experience of project or event planning and delivery
2. Experience in HR processes to include Right to Work checks
3. Experience in supporting grant applications
4. Ability to leverage AI tools to draft initial content and streamline daily administrative workflows
5. Knowledge of managing web content within a content management system
