CCTV & Security Control Centre Manager

Darlington Borough Council is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated CCTV & Security Control Centre Manager to lead the delivery of a range of essential security and monitoring services. As the Council's designated Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all surveillance camera matters, you will be responsible for the effective management, governance and development of CCTV systems across the authority, alongside the day to day operation of the CCTV Control Centre, alarm monitoring service, Lifeline Service, out-of-hours service and systems supporting Feethams Multi Storey Car Park. Leading a dedicated team, you will work closely with internal colleagues, Durham Constabulary, and other partner organisations to help keep Darlington a safe place to live, work and visit. The role encompasses responsibility for CCTV operations, service improvement, budget and contract management, policy development, compliance, and income generation. You will also lead on the development, installation, and maintenance of CCTV systems, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, effectively and to the highest standards., You must ensure that anything submitted in your application is factually accurate. The successful candidate will have experience in CCTV, security or control room management, strong leadership and communication skills, and a sound understanding of surveillance camera legislation, governance, and data protection requirements. An SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Licence is essential for this role. Candidates who do not currently hold the licence must be willing and able to obtain it within a reasonable timescale following appointment.
