CCTV Operator

We are currently looking to recruit a CCTV Operator for 11.5hrs per week The successful candidate will be expected to follow strict compliance of statutory legislation relation to CCTV, evidential information and operational processes and to act as a 'Data Controller' as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998 and comply with the CCTV Codes of Practice, and Operational Control Room procedures, service standards and management records. The CCTV control room operates 24/7, 365 days per year, working a three-shift system covering twenty-four hours, with operators working six on six off all operators answer to the CCTV supervisor and manager. You will work part of a shift pattern covering two-night shifts starting at 23.00hrs till 07.00am followed by ten days off. Incorporated already into this post will be half of the holiday cover for the rest of the CCTV team in addition to this will be one period per year in March for a full set of six shifts. These are made up of two-day shifts 07.00 x15.00hrs, followed by two- back shifts 15.00hrs x23.00hrs, followed by two- night shifts 23.00hrs x07.00 hrs. Nighttime working enhancements apply but only to the back shift and night shift. In addition to the above there will be the opportunity to cover the other half of the team's holidays along with any sickness cover that may occur this is not already built into the advertised post and will be offered as overtime. Other duties include:

• Responsible for ensuring that all CCTV systems are operating effectively at all times and they are compliant with Home Office guidance and recommendations
• To action the various key-holding and response procedure, generally ensuring an effective service including the maintenance of appropriate records
• Operate both radio and telephone links to contact partner agencies, and liaise on actions to be taken in response to activity seen on CCTV monitors.

The successful candidate will have good written and oral communications skills and have the ability to develop good working relationships both internally and externally with others in order to achieve service delivery targets.
