Full Job Description

As a CCF Volunteer, you will support the planning and delivery of a safe, engaging and inclusive Combined Cadet Force programme, helping young people develop valuable life skills, confidence and self-discipline. Working alongside school staff, cadet force adult volunteers and external partners, you will contribute to training activities, exercises and events that promote leadership, teamwork, resilience and personal responsibility.

You will assist in supervising cadets during training sessions, field activities and ceremonial events, ensuring that all activities are conducted in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies. You will act as a positive role model, encouraging participation, supporting cadet welfare and fostering an environment where all young people can thrive and achieve their full potential.

The role involves helping to organise and deliver a varied programme of activities, maintaining appropriate records and equipment, and supporting the recruitment and retention of cadets. Volunteers may also be involved in supporting adventurous training, community engagement projects and educational visits, helping to create memorable experiences that enhance personal development and citizenship.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with young people and who enjoy contributing to a programme that inspires confidence, develops leadership potential and prepares cadets for future challenges.

The University of Kent Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). In addition, the Trust will carry out an online search, once, as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is intended to help us identify any incidents or issues that have happened and are publicly available online. The selection panel will then explore such items with the candidate during interview. The Trust's HR Team or another member of staff trained in safer recruitment, will use Google.com to conduct each search and no adverse judgement will be formed for applicants with limited or no online footprint
