Full Job Description

We are hiring two part time, permanent Catering Support Assistants to assist the Cook/Chef in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages to people that attend day services based at the Park View Building. Available positions are: -

  • 20 hours per week working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09.30 - 14.30.
  • 15 hours per week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and 09.30 - 14.30.
  • These posts offer great variety and would be a perfect opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in a kitchen environment. Duties include:
  • assist in preparing and cooking meals that are well presented, balanced and nutritious including catering to any special dietary needs,
  • assist in the accurate recording of food temperatures, stock control and rotation of provisions in line with Food Safety requirements,
  • maintain a high standard of cleanliness/hygiene in all areas of the kitchen dining area and equipment.
  • deputise in the absence of the Cook/Chef when required.
  • You will be working with people who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities, older people and dementia so we are looking for someone who is able to deal with customer's needs in a positive and sensitive manner., This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.   • Level 2 Food Safety qualification or be willing to work towards it.
  • An understanding of preparing food or working in a catering/hospitality environment.
  • An understanding and experience of delivering excellent customer service.
  • Experience of working effectively in a team.
