Full Job Description

In this role, you will prepare, cook and serve nutritious, high quality meals in a fast paced school environment, supporting the smooth and efficient running of kitchen operations. You will maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times, ensuring all food provision meets dietary and allergen requirements. Working closely with the Catering Manager, you will contribute to a consistent and reliable catering service and support the day to day organisation of the kitchen. Through your work, you will help create a positive and welcoming dining experience that supports student wellbeing, encourages healthy choices and supports readiness to learn., Staff Wellbeing is very important to us.   • We operate a system of 'ME days' allowing staff to request on additional day off per year to attend special events such as children's sports days & graduations, family and friends' weddings.

    The ideal candidate should have strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in food preparation and a NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification in food, health and safety and hygiene standards is essential.

    Cranbury College is a Alternative Education provider for young people ranging from 5-16 years old. We support learners who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings and provide preventative support to those who are at risk of permanent exclusion. Additionally, we support those that unintentionally exclude themselves from education and children who cannot access school for medical reasons. We are a multi-site organisation which includes our Primary provision, based at College Road and Secondary provision, based at Cranbury Road. We have Outreach teams that provide specialist support within schools and a Hospital Teaching Service based at Royal Berkshire Hospital who provide education to children on short and long term stays.
