Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our catering team at Trivium Packaging. This is a varied and hands-on role where you will support the daily catering operation by preparing and serving breakfast, making sandwiches and grab-and-go products, replenishing vending machines, and carrying out general kitchen duties. You will play an important role in delivering excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation. Working as part of a busy team, you will help create a positive dining experience for site colleagues and visitors while ensuring the catering operation runs smoothly and efficiently. What You'll Do: As a Food Service Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Cooking and serving breakfast items to customers
- Preparing sandwiches, grab-and-go products and other food items in accordance with company specifications and build cards
- Carrying out general kitchen duties including food preparation, cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards
- Ensuring all products are correctly labelled in line with Natasha's Law and company procedures
- Stocking and replenishing vending machines with food, drinks and confectionery
- Cleaning and maintaining vending machines in accordance with cleaning schedules
- Completing vending control sheets and accurately recording stock and cash takings
- Monitoring and recording food temperatures in line with HACCP requirements
- Assisting with weekly stock ordering and monthly stock takes
- Operating the EPOS till system and processing customer transactions
- Supporting all areas of the catering operation as required
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Supporting merchandising and promotional activities within the catering operation
- Attending training sessions and team meetings as required
- Delivering excellent customer service and building positive relationships with customers and colleagues
Experience preparing and serving breakfasts, sandwiches and other food items within a catering, hospitality or food service environment - Basic food preparation and kitchen experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic numeracy and cash handling skills
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
- Willingness to undertake training and development opportunities
- Ability to follow company procedures and maintain high standards
