Catering Assistant (Porter) ROLE DESCRIPTION We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant (Porter) to support the day-to-day operation of our busy catering facilities at Southwark College This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is passionate about delivering excellent customer service. As part of our catering team, you will help ensure that kitchens, dining areas and food preparation spaces are clean, safe, well-organised and fully operational, supporting staff, students and customers every day. What You'll Be Doing Key responsibilities include: Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout catering and food storage areas. Collecting, disposing of and managing waste and recycling appropriately. Receiving deliveries and checking goods against orders. Transporting food, equipment and supplies across college buildings. Washing, drying and
storing kitchen equipment and utensils. Cleaning and maintaining catering equipment, fridges, freezers and kitchen facilities. Supporting food service and customer-facing activities, including operating tills when required. Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH regulations. Working collaboratively with catering staff, lecturers and students to support catering operations.
