catering assistant

Duties for this job will include (but are not limited to): · Assist with the preparation, setting up and serving of meals in line with food hygiene regulation · Ensure compliance with food hygiene and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations at all times · Provide customer focussed service, which is courteous and responsive and meets the needs of the customers at all times · To undertake washing up and cleaning duties in the kitchen · To safely operate kitchen equipment at all time · To report and identify repair of kitchen equipment immediately on detention to the Catering Manager · To report and accidents and incidents to the Catering Manager · To assist in the security of the catering area at all time · To maintain high standards of cleanliness, personal hygiene and appearance · Undertake such duties as may be considered appropriate by the Catering Manager in line with the needs of the service

• Preparation of food and beverages.
• To work as part a team, including assistance at buffets as required.
• Washing up.
• Cleaning duties including kitchen, dining areas, furniture and equipment when required.
• Maintain safe and hygienic working practices at all times.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons you are responsible for or come into contact with.
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
• Be aware of, support and ensure equal opportunities for all.
• Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
• Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
• Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
• Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
• Assist with pupil needs as appropriate during the working hours.
Any other appropriate duties and responsibilities relevant to the post as directed by the Catering Manager.
