Catering Assistant

As a Catering Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day running of a busy school food service operation. You'll assist with preparing and serving food at St Peter's Catholic First School, while also supporting a nearby school when required. The role will include driving a Sodexo van to another school to support with food service and washing up, as well as general cleaning duties. You'll work as part of a supportive team, helping to deliver great service while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety. What You'll Do

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages at St Peter's Catholic First School
• Drive a Sodexo van to another school when required to support with food service and washing up
• Transport food, catering equipment and supplies safely between school sites
• Assist with washing up and maintaining clean and organised kitchen areas
• Carry out general cleaning duties across the catering areas
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to pupils, colleagues and visitors
• Work as part of the wider catering team to ensure the smooth running of the service, driving licence requirement prominent because the role involves travelling between school sites, rather than leaving it buried in the advert.

• Previous catering, food service or driving experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided

Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
