Catering Assistant

To undertake duties relating to the operation of day centre - residential centre.

To work under the general supervision of a cook.

To maintain a clean, tidy and safe kitchen and dining environment.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. To promote and safeguard the welfare of vulnerable adults.

2. To clean kitchen and dining areas and utility rooms under instructions of the cook using domestic cleaning equipment.

3. To lay, wait at and clean dining room tables and wash up cutlery, crockery etc to ensure a clean and safe environment.

4. To prepare basic meals for customers under supervision.

5. To use laundry equipment e.g. washing machines and tumble dryers.

6. The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation places responsibilities for health and safety on Hull City Council, as your employer and you as an employee of the council. In addition to the Councils overall duties, the post holder has personal responsibility for their own health safety and that of other employees; additional and more specific responsibilities are identified in the Council's Corporate HS policy.
