Play Services deliver engaging, inclusive play sessions for children aged 5-14 years across Calderdale, through a range of vibrant programmes. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Casual Play Workers to support the delivery of after-school and school holiday play sessions in a variety of community locations. These sessions are at the heart of what we do-providing safe, fun, and enriching spaces where children can play, socialise, and thrive. As a Play Worker, you will work alongside Lead Staff to plan and deliver exciting, inclusive play opportunities. You will help create a welcoming and supportive environment where every child feels valued and able to participate fully. This role involves: Supporting the delivery of after-school and holiday play sessions
- Engaging children in a wide range of creative, physical, and social activities
- Building positive relationships with children, encouraging confidence and independence
- Being confident and adaptable when working with children with a variety of individual needs, including those who may require additional support
- Helping maintain a safe and structured environment
- Contributing to session feedback and reporting There may also be opportunities for term-time keywork for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who: Is passionate about working with children and young people
- Understands the importance and benefits of play in child development
Is confident, approachable, and able to communicate effectively - Is flexible and able to work during school holidays and after school hours
- Feels comfortable supporting children with a wide range of abilities and needs
