Then look no further! Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council are seeking to recruit a number Cleaning Assistants to join our Cleaning Service on a casual basis.
The roles currently on offer are casual posts, meaning you will work as-and-when needed by the service based on your availability, allowing you to fit work in with your other commitments. Many of our permanent members of the team started with us on a casual basis and enjoyed it so much that they then applied for permanent roles within the service., You will be responsible for providing an excellent cleaning service in our buildings, working efficiently to complete your tasks to a high standard. You will ensure the safe operation and storage of cleaning equipment and machinery, including monitoring stock levels as needed., Accuracy and Use of AI Tools: You must ensure that anything submitted in your application is factually accurate. Plagiarism can include presenting the ideas and experience of others, or generated by artificial intelligence, as your own. Whilst we accept candidates may use AI tools within job applications; submissions must be truthful and relevant to your own experience.

For roles in schools - Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions): This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended). Applicants are therefore required to disclose all criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings, including those which would normally be considered spent, subject to the filtering rules applicable under current legislation.
Right to Work: All applicants must provide valid proof of their right to work in the UK in accordance with Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's statutory employment checks. Employment cannot commence or continue unless this has been verified.

Previous experience would be advantageous but is not required - just a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, a customer focused approach, and to be able to lift and carry cleaning equipment.
As some roles available will involve working in schools, you will also need to undergo safeguarding checks including an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
