Introduction
Persimmon Homes Severn Valley is seeking Carpentry Apprentices to complete a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery. Apprentices will work alongside experienced carpenters on active construction sites, gaining practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional behaviours essential for a career in construction.

What You'll Do
All of our apprentices will work alongside qualified and experienced carpenters to learn the trade and assist in all aspects of carpentry on a busy construction site. In addition to learning the skills required to become a competent carpenter, apprentices will also obtain the knowledge and behaviour to support them in the construction sector.
We are looking for candidates that will work safely and responsibly at all times, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and training.
Daily duties include:
- Awareness of health and safety on site
- Understand different techniques and methods used to move, handle and store materials
- Access, interpret and use drawings and specifications to carry out work
- Understand how to calculate quantity, length, area and wastage
- Install door and window frames, floor joist coverings, partitions and stairs; install doors and ironmongery
- Erect roofs with gables, joists, roof coverings and roof components
- Use, maintain and store hand/power tools
Training Outcome
The successful applicant will work with our contractors in the region with a view to gaining the skills required to work for a fast-paced 5 Star National House Builder.

- Essential - GCSE - English - 4/C or above
