Introduction

Kick-start your career in carpentry with a friendly local business specialising in domestic projects. As a Carpentry Apprentice, you'll learn valuable trade skills while working on home improvements, repairs and bespoke woodwork. This hands-on role is ideal for someone practical, motivated and eager to build a successful career in carpentry.

About the Employer

With over 30 years’ experience, Apex Building Services has developed an enviable reputation in the Weston, Clevedon, Portishead and Bristol areas for good workmanship and reliability. Taking pride in their work and paying attention to detail, our team strives to complete projects to the highest standards possible - all contributing to attain our goal of making Apex the “talk-to first” building company in Bristol and the surrounding areas.

Over time, we have developed an enviable reputation in the refurbishment of older period properties, not only in the sympathetic restoration of original features, but also in the treatment of problems such as rising damp, wood infestation and crumbling masonry.

We are delighted that some of our existing relationships have spanned three generations and look forward to developing more long-term customer relationships in the future – we are also pleased to say that a large part of our new business originates from recommendations from existing customers.

What You'll Do

This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career in carpentry with a local business that undertakes a wide range of domestic projects. No two days are the same, offering plenty of variety and the chance to develop practical skills across different aspects of the trade. You'll gain hands-on experience working on home improvement and renovation projects while learning from skilled colleagues in a supportive environment.

Daily duties to include:

  • Assisting with a variety of carpentry and home improvement projects
  • Measuring, cutting and fitting timber materials
  • Installing plasterboard to stud walls

  • Hanging and fitting internal and external doors
  • Using and maintaining hand and power tools safely
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
  • Loading, unloading and preparing materials for jobs
  • Working both independently and as part of a team on domestic properties
