Job Description

Would you like to join Hyde as a Carpenter? If you're a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we'd like to hear from you.

As a Carpenter at Hyde, you'll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You'll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out multi-trade repairs including carpentry, and general maintenance


• Fixing day-to-day issues such as doors, kitchens, bathrooms, leaks, walls, and flooring


• Completing patch plastering, minor tiling, painting, and similar finishing works


• Working on your own jobs but also alongside other trades when needed


• Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used


• Working safely at all times and following Hyde's health and safety procedures


• Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes

UPVC Repairs & Maintenance

• Repairing and maintaining windows and doors, including replacing hinges, handles, and locking mechanisms


• Installing new fire doors, including cutting and adjusting frames

What we're looking for

• Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry


• Confident using hand and power tools


• Able to work independently and manage your own workload


• A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly


• Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude


• Physically fit and happy with hands-on work


• Experience working in social housing is a bonus


• A full, valid UK driving licence


• Must have UPVC skills
