Caretaker

Ensure the school site is safe, secure, clean and well-maintained at all times.

Undertake general caretaking, maintenance and site security duties.

Support the day-to-day operational needs of the school, including setting up facilities for school activities and events.

Carry out routine health and safety checks and report any issues promptly.

Liaise with contractors, suppliers and other service providers as required.

Provide support to colleagues and assist with additional duties as directed by the Site Manager or Bursar.

Are you a reliable, practical and proactive individual with experience in caretaking, maintenance or facilities management? WGPS is seeking a Caretaker to help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.

Working as part of our site team, you will undertake a wide range of caretaking duties including general maintenance, site security, health and safety checks, supervising contractors and supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the school. Driving duties may also be required from time to time, although this is desirable rather than essential.

Experience in a similar role is desirable, although experience within an independent school setting is not essential. Experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities or similar practical role is desirable.

A reliable, proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and positive manner.

A commitment to maintaining high standards and taking pride in your work.

A full UK driving licence is desirable.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
