Full Job Description

  • Supporting Orla out in the community with leisure activities, learning to ride a bike, and to swim
  • Supporting at other activities like the local park, classes and clubs
  • Some assistance with personal care

  • Ability to work with patience, tact, understanding, warmth and compassion, Our Case Managers work closely with our Clients, and we carry out all the recruitment processes on behalf of our Clients; and will support you, from your initial telephone interview right through to arranging employer interviews, trial shifts and placement.
  • If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. However, ILS will manage your day-to-day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.

  • Female - personal care required.
  • A Handling Management Plan designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries may require you to bend, kneel, squat or lunge to ensure good posture during handling tasks if required.
  • Confident about working inside and outside client's own home and sensitive to the needs and wishes of her mother.

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience/understanding of mental health issues.
  • Full driving license (endorsements to be disclosed) and have your own car to drive our client whilst on shift.

  • Knowledge and experience of traumatic brain injury would be advantageous.

    Orla, born in 2010, is a very active child and enjoys being physically engaged. Her favourite activity is swimming; she likes to play throwing and catching games and enjoys basketball. The seaside is another favourite activity and cooking/baking at home with her mother. She enjoys playing with her friends, shopping and reading.
  • Orla has mild motor impairment which affects the right side more, her fine motor co-ordination remains an issue. Her epileptic seizures have decreased over time but may become more apparent as she reaches adulthood. She has a severe visual impairment and has trouble seeing in crowded places, looking down is difficult for her so often misses obstacles in her way so is liable to trip over. She requires very good lighting to make the most of the vision she does have, she prefers to watch things on her tablet due to this being a smaller area to focus on., ILS Case Management is the UK's leading independent nationwide Case Management company.     Hours: 14 hours per week during term-time and 18 hours per week during holiday time to support our client with social activities.
  • Term Time: 8 hours per week Mon-Fri plus 6 hours at the weekend
  • School Holidays: 12 hours per week Mon-Fri and 6 hours at the weekend
  • Pay:
  • Pay Rate 1: £15.00 per hour, Weekday Days
  • Pay Rate 2: £16.00 per hour, Weekend and Bank Holiday Days, 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)
